Real chamomile is cultivated in Hungary and Eastern Europe and grows wild throughout Europe. With these organic chamomile seeds, you can grow a plant that also blooms in full meadows and cornfields, along roadsides, etc. The plant flowers from May to August with flowers with a yellow centre and white petals that bend downwards at the end of the flowering period. The flowers have a strong honey-like fragrance.

The medicinal effect of chamomile

Chamomile is used exclusively in naturopathy. Dried chamomile is used, among other things, as a tea for mouthwashes. Due to its high content of azulene and Bisabolol, chamomile oil has anti-inflammatory properties and is used in ointments. The essential oil is extracted from the flower buds by steam distillation. The plant also contains numerous flavonoids. The bitter flavour is caused by sesquiterpene lactones.
