A unique and new concept for the vegetable garden!
With these potato seeds, it is possible to grow uniform potatoes from seed. Soltastic forms yellow round-oval potatoes with golden yellow flesh. The potatoes are fairly firm when cooked and are medium in size.
Potatoes grown from seed require some attention at the beginning of the growing process, but once the seedlings have been planted out, they turn into beautifully flowering plants from which you can also harvest potatoes. A wonderful challenge for the passionate vegetable gardener!
Sowing instructions
Sowing: From February to May in a seed tray or containers at a temperature of 16 to 20°C. It is very important to maintain this temperature, especially in the first few days after sowing.
From mid-May onwards, once the seedlings have hardened off, the plants can be transplanted.
Transplanting must be done before tubers start to form and can be done in the open ground, but it is also perfectly possible in large containers or potato bags.
It is best to earth them up during the growing season. Planting distance 20 cm, 60 cm between rows.
Harvesting: The potatoes can be harvested 100 to 120 days after planting the seedlings. For the best possible harvest, wait until the plants begin to discolour and die back. The harvest itself is exactly the same as when growing seed potatoes. It is easiest to use a pitchfork to harvest the potatoes cleanly and without damage.
